Stewarding at this years ONE LOVE Festival to take place 1st-3rd September 2017.

In order to proceed with your application there's a few things to note:

You will be required to be on site from Thursday 31st August and complete 2 x 6 hour shifts, (meal provided whilst on shift) giving you plenty of time to enjoy the festival. If you can work Thursday they're will be an option to arrive on Wednesday. We are also looking for some people to work on Monday 4th September.

Deposits

In order for us to provide a reliable service during the festival we need to ensure that our volunteers turn up on time and carry out the tasks delegated to them. In the past a number of applicants have accepted positions at the festival but then decided not to turn up or perform their duties. This puts unfair pressure on those who have turned up and taken their responsibilities seriously. By introducing a deposit we hope to make applicants think a little more carefully before submitting their application.

A £50 deposit includes a £10 admin fee paid via Paypal. Once all shifts have been completed we can then process the £40 refund. (Full £50 refund to litter pickers)

If you decide to join the team, you will be given a wristband entitling you to access the festival site for your volunteer role and a secure place to camp with basic facilities. The positions we're offering are enjoyable and make you part of the group involved in staging one of the UK's premier musical events.

Please reply to this email
onelovestewards17@gmail.com  by 31st July 2017 indicating your availability (Thursday  and Monday) we are looking for a number of volunteer supervisors, if you have previous experience or feel this is something you would be interested in then please indicate in your email.

I will send out the paypal details 1st August so look out for that email.

I look forward to hearing from you and welcoming you on board, this is the 10th anniversary of ONE LOVE Festival lets make it the best.

Kind Regards

Andria

Come and join us - because Derrick Morgan says so - and be part of a historically important cultural celebration of peace and love
We are pleased to announce Legend Derrick Morgan will be joining us to celebrate Bunny Lee's 50th anniversary at this years One Love Festival - Derrick has performed with all the greats Duke Reid, Desmond Dekker and Bob Marley

In 1960 Morgan became the only artist ever to fill the places from one to seven on the Jamaican pop chart simultaneously. Among those hits were "Don't Call Me Daddy", "In My Heart", "Be Still", and "Meekly Wait and Murmur Not". But it was the following year that Morgan released the biggest hit of his career, the Leslie Kong production of "Don't You Know", later retitled "Housewives' Choice" by a local DJ. The song featured a bouncing ska riddim, which began the legendary friendly rivalry between Morgan and Prince Buster.

Morgan had a major success in 1962 with "Forward March", a song celebrating Jamaican independence from Great Britain.
"Tougher Than Tough", "Do the Beng Beng", "Conquering Ruler", and a cover of Ben E. King's soul hit, "Seven Letters". Produced by Bunny Lee, "Seven Letters" is often cited as the first true reggae single. In 1969 Morgan cut the famous punk anthem "Moon Hop" (on Crab Records).
