Connect with yourself and other women through the practices of Qoya, Ceremony, Journaling & Creative Expression Exercises.

We will be exploring the archetype of the Zodiac Sign Leo (the Lion).
Leo energy encourages us to boldly and courageously shine-
to be who we are without reservation.
We will deepen our relationship with our light by also exploring our shadow. This new moon eclipse is a potent time to set intentions.

"Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world." ~Lucille Ball

Hello Gorgeous,

This month's offerings offer opportunities to deepen your self-love practice. Self-love might not come naturally, for me it's definitely been a practice that requires gentle persistence. I certainly encounter resistance (although this lessened with time), but the more I do it the better I feel, so I'm sticking with it.

And I must say, that not only do I feel better, but those around me benefit as well. I describe it as the difference between giving from an overflowing cup as opposed to an empty one. When we give give give to others without honoring ourselves, we become depleted and even resentful. That isn't going to do anyone any good.

In the spirit of self-love, I've started to do little things each day that delight me- like wearing a flower crown, adding fresh herbs to my water, or slowly and mindfully enjoying every bite of a ripe peach.

My all-time favorite self-love practice is sitting in circle with women, sipping cacao, and expressing gratitude for the abundance in our lives. And I'm not alone here- this ceremony was a big hit with those who attended the Midsummer Magic Retreat. If you missed it, don't despair... the next Bliss & Gratitude event is scheduled for August 7th. See you there?

What's your favorite self-love practice? Share it with me in the comments.

AN INVITATION:
Use the moments of your daily life as a means for connecting with your intuition, receiving inspiration, and re-aligning with who you want to be in the world and how you want to show up.

My example (described below) led me to uncover and look at some aspects of my shadow in a rather gentle way. You can use this practice to uncover answers to questions in your own life such as, "What step do I take next?" "Do I want to accept this job offer?" "Am I ready to have another child?"

Your request for guidance can be about any topic you desire. Or it can be open-ended, "Show me what I need to know for this next moon cycle."

THE PRACTICE:

+ Ask your question/Set your intention and head out for a walk in nature or around your neighborhood.

+ Interpret anything you see or anything that happens through that lens.

+ Alternately, is there an animal/mantra/book that has been appearing over and over in your life? Take some time to reflect on what it might be trying to tell you.

+ Journal about it or sit quietly in meditation and listen for the message(s).

Here's an example from my own life to get you started:

For the past month or so I have seen at least one and often multiple herons each day. And not always around the edge of the lake where you might expect to find one. They've flown over my head in the Whole Foods parking lot, while I was sitting on the roof at my office, several times while driving down the highway.

I decided to sit and meditate with this majestic bird- what message did it have for me?

What I found initiated an exploration of the tender places. The parts I don't always like to think about.

I found myself contemplating my relationship to:

🐦PATIENCE- Am I able to observe and take action at just the right time or do I tend to push things to happen on my time?

🐦TRANSITIONS- How do I handle myself in uncertain situations? Am I able to ground myself with my spirituality and intuition or do I succumb to fear based action?

🐦COLLABORATION- Do I allow my partner to be equally involved in nesting and parenting or do I tend to think I know best and swoop in to handle things?

🐦🐦🐦 WOW! What important questions. I'm so grateful to the heron for helping me tune in to these aspects so that I can live more mindfully and in alignment with my values.
