Our next Family Promise host week is August 13-20. Currently, we have two NEW great families in the program: family #1 is mom, dad and four children (twins, age 11 son & daughter; sons ages 10 and 4); family #2 is mom, dad and four children (daughters ages 10 and 6 and sons ages 9 and 4). We are trying a “new” sign up online for our next host week. We hope this makes the process easier for everyone so you can sign up in “real time” and see what is available or taken for each volunteer slot through the week. ADULT DISCUSSION CLASS: We are re-starting this Sunday, August 6. We will begin a series: "Living as Christians in Today's World," and we welcome new members. Join us at 9:45 in the Habitat House and bring your ideas on the difficulties and pleasures Christians face today. Gun violence, computer hackers, opioids, poor health; so you miss the good old days?? Let's talk about it.
Also, put Saturday afternoon, August 19, on your calendar for a class social at the Tompkins' mountain house. Details to follow.

Mothers’ Morning Out has an opening for a teacher in the infant classroom. Children are between the ages of 6-18 months.
At Mothers Morning Out we provide:
- An atmosphere of Christian love and security
- Good physical care in a pleasant, safe environment

Children's Ministry Events
This evening, August 2 - Family Pool Night at Patrick Square Pool from 5-7pm
Bring your family out for a fun night of swimming and fellowship! Feel free to bring a picnic dinner.
Tweens (grades 3-5) have been invited to Pastor Pat & Mrs. Bonnie's home to swim from 2-4 pm on Sunday, August 6.
Summer Preschool Playdates
CUMC Children's ministry is excited to host preschool playdates through the summer! Come join other families for some light refreshments and playing on the playground here at CUMC. All families with preschool aged children are welcome to attend. Join us from 9:30-11:00am on Saturday, August 12.
Blessing of Backpacks & Children's Ministry Parent Meeting for the 2017-2018 school year.
Please join us for an exciting Sunday on August 13 and a time of blessings for our children and teachers as they head back to school for a new year. We will have a special service in the Worship Center at 3pm. Please bring your backpacks or briefcases to be blessed by our pastors.
We invite our families to stay after the Blessing of Backpacks for a Children's Ministry Parent Meeting at 4pm in room 402 of the Christian Life Center. Children are invited to watch a movie and play games in the CLC gym during the parent meeting.

Youth Ministry Events
Wild Wednesday Each Week - Meet at Peppino's at 6:30pm
All middle and high school youth are invited to Wild Wednesday each summer Wednesday. Meet at Peppino's in Clemson at 6:30pm. Bring $5 for endless pizza and fountain drinks. After dinner, we will head over to Bowman Field for games and wrap up with a prayer at 8:30pm. All are welcome, so bring friends!
Family Open House - Sunday, August 27 from 5-6:30pm
We will have an Open House for parents & youth alike on Sunday, August 27. There will be handouts with the dates of future retreats and events, as well as the best-est team of Small Group Leaders EVER for you to get to know. We will spend time looking ahead at the coming school year and discuss our goals and themes for the year. We are so excited for what's to come!

Clemson Community Care has been experiencing a higher than normal request for food from the clients in our area. We are completely out of several food items and have a very low inventory on many others. Please help us stock our shelves with the following items: powdered milk, flour, cornmeal, juice, soup, canned vegetables (with the exception of green beans) and dry spaghetti noodles. We will really
appreciate any and all donations!
