SHARE SOME KEYSTONE KINDNESS: Many of us recall first walking into Keystone UCC as a newcomer, and being greeted with a warm genuine welcome.  If you might now be one among us who would enjoy sharing our hospitality with others on an occasional Sunday morning, you are invited to consider serving as a "Greeter".  Your task would be to set up our welcome area before worship @ 10:15 a.m. and greet our visitors.

We could also use some additional "Coffee Hour Hosts"! Your task would be to supply snacks for 15+ congregants, and it can be as simple as something store-bought, or a chance to share your favorite homemade dish. Anything is appreciated!

Sign up on the clipboards in the Narthex or talk to Lauren or Rich if you are interested!

Interfaith EJC to hire organizer

Great news from our Interfaith Economic Justice Coalition. Through the generous support of Unite Here Local 8, SEIU Local 6, and Rainier Valley Corps (RVC), Keystone's partner Puget Sound Sage will be hiring an organizer to support the work of the IEJC starting in August.  The organizer will be participating in the fabulous RVC Fellowship program, designed to cultivate leaders of color and strong community organizations in Southeast Seattle.

At the July 20 meeting at Puget Sound Sage, the organization did some planning for the rest of the year, especially in preparation for the additional organizing capacity.  It also received updates on airport and Amazon workers. To learn more, all are welcome at the ...

Interfaith Economic Justice Coalition
monthly meetings - 'love of neighbor'

Opportunity to witness for justice:  Interfaith Economic Justice Coalition monthly meetings are held the third Thursday of each month at 10am, with Keystone represented by Pastor Lauren & our Justice Leadership Program Interns.  Please come just check out a meeting and see if this witness calls to you, as we embody our 'love  of neighbor'. Iris Chavez (JLP '16-'17) has been helping us support concession workers at Seatac Airport and security workers at Amazon, as they fight for dignity on the job and the wages they are due; most are workers of color, women, immigrants and refugees.  Come scope out a monthly meeting.

As the location rotates between south Seattle churches, libraries, and non-profits, contact Pastor Lauren for more information: lauren.cannon@keystoneseattle.org

In his final long-form documentary interview, Noam Chomsky exposes with searing clarity the forces and policies behind the coordinated campaign to concentrate wealth and power in the hands of a select few. Articulating ten fundamental principles that perpetuate this vicious cycle, Chomsky provides penetrating insight into the demise of democracy and erosion of opportunity that are likely to be the lasting hallmarks of our time.  Required viewing for all who maintain hope in a shared stake in the future.
