Heather Rudalavage RD LDN
Mindful Eating is about bringing attention and intention to each meal or snack. By becoming aware of all the sensations that happen while we are eating, including taste, texture, temperature, aroma, and visual presentation, we are able to stay grounded in the present moment.
By learning to eat mindfully, we will begin to eat intuitively. When we eat intuitively, we rely on internal signals such as feeling satisfied or full as opposed to external signals such as a clean plate or reaching the bottom of a snack bag.
Intuitive eating is different from a diet in that it will allow you to learn how to become your own nutrition expert. Instead of being told what to eat, when and how much, you will become the master of your meal. This will lead to feeling empowered instead of frustrated.
Mindful/Intuitive eating is a healthy way of eating for everyone, but can be particularly beneficial for those who suffer from disordered eating, emotional eating or who feel traditional dieting is not the answer for them. Heather is a registered dietitian that promotes a healthy lifestyle and intuitive eating.
She works with adults, children and families. She has an office in Fort Washington and is a preferred provider with both Aetna and Blue Cross.
