Happy Independence Day

In 1991, a few individuals form Berkeley got together and founded Asha for Education, with the belief that good quality education is an indispensable element for social and economic development.  For the past 26 years, with your unwavering support, Asha for Education has focused on driving socio-economic change in India through the education of underprivileged children.

Asha for Education celebrated its 26th year of existence at the biennial conference, hosted by the Seattle chapter of Asha for Education on the Microsoft campus July 29-30, 2017. Asha for Education has been supporting the education of underprivileged children in India for 26 years now. This was a time for all of us at Asha to celebrate all the work that Asha volunteers and our project partners have done over the years. It was also the time for us all to learn more about the ground realities in India and think of creative ways in which we can expand our work to serve India better.

Asha for Education is now a global organization with 50+ chapters across the world, 1000+ active volunteers, far-reaching impact of providing education to 300K+ children from about 400 projects all across India, maintaining a perfect 100 score in charity navigator ratings. This would not be possible without the continued and unwavering support of each and every one of you.
