Do: We're keen followers of the work done by 80000hours.org, a platform dedicated to effective altruism, a twenty-first century iteration on the philanthropic sector. Considering on average we will spend 80,000 hours of our life working, it makes sense to proactively seek ways to do both meaningful work, and put good habits into place. Naturally, one of our favourite sections is 'Learn how to Learn'.
Think: Does it follow that the more complex our identity, the stronger and more empowered we are? Or does having too many bases to defend somehow reduce our ability to interact more honestly and pragmatically with each other, and the world at large? This short essay from Paul Graham, a tech investor in Silicon Valley, might seem contrarian at first look, but that's just the beginning. Identity is written into our gene pool, but what is its function, is it necessary, how much of it hinders us, and can we bring it into obeisance? These are some of our initial thoughts on the piece.
