This week MNL launched the Make Your Mark campaign with major media uptake. Now we need your help to keep the momentum going.
Supporting this campaign is a dynamic website makeyourmarknl.ca containing videos, testimonials and resources that will help people understand the “Why” and “How To” become involved in municipal government. This site is also be a permanent resource for potential candidates, current members of council, and administrators for this election, as well as future by-elections and the 2021 municipal general election.
Make Your Mark is a long term, public engagement initiative of MNL. It's not only about this election; it’s our call to action. As stewards of the municipal sector, it's our responsibility to recruit potential candidates as well as open our audience to engaging citizens: both to get involved through municipal committees or simply by learning more about how municipalities work, how they can contribute. We must preserve local democracy.
Many of you have engaged on social media and I am asking that you continue to follow and support the Make Your Mark campaign by sharing the website link, videos, tweets, and Facebook posts.
Make Your Mark should inspire everyday residents to make the leap into municipal government and tip the scales in favour for people not yet decided to run for council.
Included in this email are Key Messages, you may use for your own social media posts, interviews and while speaking publicly. Also listed below are the links to the "Make Your Mark" social media channels.

Finally, sincere thanks to those of you who appeared in a "Make Your Mark" video. I appreciate your honesty, candour, and obvious pride you all have in the job you do for your community.
Thanks,
Mayor Karen Oldford, President
