Campaign Swings into Final Phase

Many thanks to the nearly 300 community members who attended our groundbreaking on August 23. It was a perfect celebration of the success of our campaign and our community's bright future.

We are thrilled to be a part of the 2017 SwingShift and the Stars event! Our campaign volunteer and longtime library supporter Verta Odziana has stepped up to be our celebrity dancer in this year's SwingShift event. At 72, Verta epitomizes the joy of life and energy our library will provide for our community.

We are in the final stretch of raising money to build a new library building in Interlochen. This special event will help us celebrate our community spirit and raise awareness and money for our new library.

Groundbreaking Celebration

On August 23, nearly 300 community members showed their support for our new Interlochen Public Library building by attending the groundbreaking celebration. Community leaders shared their support of the library while children listened to the story Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel. Each child received their own commemorative copy of the book. Everyone ate pizza and enjoyed the momentous occasion. Twenty major donors ceremoniously dug the first shovelfuls of dirt at the site.
