Forest Rugby Seniors

Saturday 19th August - Semi-Finals
David Phillips Field, Gwea Ave, Daceyville

4th Grade Major Semi-Final - Forest vs Hills @ 9.50am
Colts Major Semi-Final - Forest vs Lindfield @12.15pm

Congratulations to our 4th Grade who finished as Minor Premiers in the Richardson Cup.

Our Colts have had a tremendous season finishing 2nd in the minor premiership to play the undefeated Lindfield in the Robertson Cup.

Lets get plenty of support out to Daceyville for both of our teams!

Results from last weekend Round 14:

1st Grade - Forest 19 lost to Blue Mountains 47
2nd Grade - Forest 3 lost to Blue Mountains 18
Colts - Forest 22 defeated Blue Mountains 21
3rd Grade - Forest 14 lost to Blue Mountains 46
4th Grade - Forest 29 defeated Blue Mountains 10

We travelled to the mountains depleted through injury and unavailability yet still managed to fill the bus with over 50 enthusiastic players and supporters. Great Forest Rugby Club spirit made sure we ran full teams out onto the field in all grades. Fantastic to see a couple of higher grade players helping out 3rd grade when needed. Well done boys!

A few home town decisions were the norm at the mountains and we had massive numbers at the after match speeches which was appreciated by the home club. The bus trip home was full of energy as usual to cap of a great day apart from a few of the results. Great effort from all who made the trip.

Forest Girls 7s

Last week we hosted a round of the Northern conference of the Girls 7s up at a Melwood.  Over 15 teams descended on our humble field for an evening of Rugby.  Our girls played really well once again with the U12s winning both their game.  U14s having a win and a draw and the U16s with a win and a loss.

We also had the debut of two new players in the U14s with one scoring two tries on the night!

Training this week was slightly changed with the team photos on Tuesday night but it gave us to opportunity to train a bit with our U15 boys.  There was a massive touch game in the which players on all sides really enjoyed.

Lastly, big news for training next Monday night with an Australia Womens 7s player Demi Hayes coming up to train the girls for the night.  All are excited to have a girl train them, let alone someone who plays for our country!

This weekend we are travelling up to the Central Coast.

Anyone interested in coming up and having a look you are more than welcome, please drop me an email at: david.mcandrew@nielsen.com
Australian Seven’s Star coming to our Girls 7s training on
Monday 21st August.
