Children’s Ministry

We’ve all heard the expression “It takes a village to raise a child.” Well in our case at St Paul’s…it takes a church family! Raising children today is not an easy task, the whole world seems to be pulling our children in different directions away from God.  Parents are working so much to provide necessities for their families that leave them tired and drained by the end of the week. How can you help?  Please pray for the families in our church and parents who want their children to follow our Saviour Jesus Christ.

We have a strong bible based Children’s Ministry at St Paul’s, our teachers are loving, committed Christians who give so much of themselves to the children in the church. But we need more teachers. We are looking for volunteers willing to commit to teaching Sunday School either at 9am or 10:30am this coming year. We are looking for people to take on a 6 or 8 week session during the year. Teachers will be given curriculum materials early so you will have lots of time to prepare. Please prayerfully consider this vital ministry for the children and families in our church. Thank you for your prayerful consideration. For more information contact our Children’s Pastor Judy Jack at 613-726-9367/613-804-0130 or judy@stpaulspcottawa.com

Welcome Home - Sunday, September 10

Join us on Sunday, September 10 at 10:00 a.m. as we celebrate our community at St. Paul’s!  It will be the last single service of the season and will see the kick-off of all our regular programs at the church.  After the service we warmly invite everyone to join us for a free BBQ Lunch and celebration in Campbell Hall.  If you can help provide desserts for this event please sign up in the Resource Centre.

The Hub – What is it?

As part of our Welcome Home kick-off event we will be launching an all-new space near the Resource Centre called “The Hub” that will serve to provide a central place for information on church events and ministries for regular attendees as well as for newcomers. Further information about what purpose “The Hub” will serve will be revealed in coming weeks.  If you have any questions please contact Jeremy Sauvé at jeremy@epicentreyouth.com

Changes to the Family Ministry

After careful consideration, many conversations and much prayer we have decided to discontinue the Family Fellowship Ministry that was started many years ago and faithfully carried on by dedicated members.  We'd like to thank all of those that have been involved for their sacrifice and service.  If you have any questions about this decision feel free to give me a call (613-729-3384) and I'd be happy to discuss. Instead of the regular Family Fellowship Sundays we are going to focus on bringing a variety of monthly activities such as: special events for the whole family, special conferences and events for parents/caregivers and special gatherings to provide opportunities to have meaningful conversations with other parents of all stages.

So, please save the following dates:

September 24 | 1-3:00 p.m.
Family Picnic at Vincent Massey Park:

Join us for a fun event for the whole family!
Food, games and great fellowship!  More details to come.

October 28 | 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
Mini-Conference: "Beyond the Talk:
Raising and Protecting Children in a Pornified World”

Hosted by St. Paul's in partnership with Strength to Fight
Join us. for a conference discussing the societal problem of pornography and providing practical tools to raise and protect children in a pornified world.
This conference is for anyone (parents, caregivers, grandparents, individuals) concerned about the exponential rise of pornography exposure and addiction in our society especially as it relates to children and teens. Lunch will be provided by Burger Builder and childcare provided by St. Paul’s.

Tickets: Early Bird - $25  |  At the door - $30

Registration will be open in the next two weeks.

The final Wilderness Camping Trip “Journey” is from August 11-18.

This trip will cover over 95 km of paddling and 43 km of portaging!

It is an incredible opportunity for all involved to connect with God and each other in the remote backcountry of Algonquin Park.  Your prayers for safety, health and community would be greatly appreciated.  If you are interesting in learning more or in discussing how your could participate in future trips please contact Jeremy Sauvé.

St. Paul's is pleased to be able to provide space for a number of recovery groups that meet each week.
