Good morning, <<First Name>>!

We're midway through summer and past the hottest time of the year in Japan. As the weather starts to cool, the leaves will start turn red and gold in the north of the country and make their way south over the next few months. This is the perfect time of year to get outdoors, so this month's newsletter features a few adventure trip suggestions!

JNTO will have two desks at Luxperience this year - one for agents who primarily specialise in leisure and one for MICE-focused agents. We are also proud to have been selected as a finalist for Luxperience's Destination Award!

In overall Japan news, inbound tourism continues to boom. Preliminary inbound passenger figures released by JNTO show that July saw a 16.8% increase in inbound tourism, with the 6 months prior (January through June) seeing an overall 17.3% increase. Keep up the great work, agents! We see you and we appreciate your efforts to keeping this momentum going!

Insider Tip #24: My-Hashi (Personal Chopsticks)
Restaurants and cafes will obviously always provide utensils to eat your food with, and if you pick up a bento from a convenience store (conbini) or supermarket you can get disposable chopsticks for free at the register, too.

But if you'd like to be a bit more eco-friendly and pick up a really unique souvenir, why not buy a set of "my-hashi"? These are chopsticks made to be taken with you on the go. Simple sets can be purchased from the 100-yen stores and come with a plastic or cloth case.

Fancier sets, made from real wood and inlaid with lacquer designs, can be picked up from souvenir shops or chopstick specialty shops, and even come in a dismantleable type to make them more compact. Some even come with fork and spoon ends so you have a real all-in-one utensil set for your picnic lunch!
