INTERNATIONAL SILENT FILM FESTIVAL
AUG.31 - SEP.03
The much-awaited International Silent Film Festival Manila, is back! Now at its 11th edition, the #ISFFM takes place from August 31 to September 3 at the Cineplex of Shangri-La Plaza, in Mandaluyong City.
A unique event (the first of its kind in Asia!) fusing silent movies from all times with live music by a selection of Filipino bands.
As always Italy participates in the#ISFFM thanks to the joint efforts of the Italian Embassy to the Philippines and the Philippine-Italian Association.
This year, the Italian entry will be a contemporary experimental silent movie by Ruben Maria Soriquez, "UNA FAMIGLIA PERFETTA" (A perfect family), on its World Première and to be scored live by the instrumental rock trio TOM'S STORIES, on Saturday, September 02 at 3:00 PM.
This year, nine countries will participate in the International Silent Film Festival Manila:
Italy, Philippines, Japan, Germany, Spain, United Kingdom, France, Austria and United States of America.
Scheduled from August 31st to September 3rd at the Shang Cineplex, Shangri-La Plaza, Mandaluyong City, the 2017 #ISFFM brings together the very best of silent cinema from its nine member-countries, to be accompanied manily by the best Filipino musicians on the scene.
First appointment of what we hope will be a long series. PASTA THROUGH THE AGES is a lecture/demonstration/tasting on the most well known Italian dish in the world.
History, regional differences, iconic recipies and of course tasting, will be some of the highlights of this event.
Lead by Mr. Salvatore Arria, Italian regional cuisine consultant, this gathering will take place at the Italian restaurant The Last Chukker, at the Manila Polo Club, McKinley road, Makati, on Saturday, September 23 at 1:00 PM.
