Did you realise just how much good you were doing to your mind and body whilst enjoying yourself on the dance floor?
Berkeley University in California have learnt that even people with chronic heart conditions can benefit from moderate dancing, so whatever style of dance you enjoy jive, salsa, Zumba or sequence, dance to your heart's content as it certainly improves your heart and blood vessel function.
The University found that dancing significantly reduces depression and anxiety. Dancing releases endorphins - those 'feel good' hormones and people who enjoyed social dancing had a continued engagement with life in general, cutting their risk of dementia by as much as 70%, so KEEP DANCING as they say on Strictly, which will be back on our screens again before long and they have started announcing their celebrity contestants. You can keep up to date with who will be joining the Strictly Professionals by visiting our Dance Events Facebook page.
