Deadline Is Fast Approaching

August 20 is the deadline for ordering Memorial Plaques for dedication this year on All Saints Sunday, November 5.  Plaques may be ordered to memorialize former pastors, members, constituents, and their immediate families.  It is appropriate for several persons to join together with their resources to order a plaque to remember someone who may no longer have family to do so.  Order forms are included in the Memorial Garden brochures located in the church office.  If you have questions, please call Ron or Donna Newby at 858-278-4482.

Yard Sale

Thanks The Yard Sale Committee wants to thank the many persons who contributed to the recent Yard Sale. We had many donors, buyers and workers.  You told your neighbors about the sale.   You enjoyed the fellowship of sorting and pricing, and you assisted our customers with efficiency and cheerfulness.  Then you speedily bagged and boxed the leftovers and took them to the waiting trucks.  Many workers made an extraordinary effort to help us be ready.  Whether you worked a few hours or many, to all of you we say a rousing "Thanks!"  We could not have done it without your help!

Bring A Friend To The Beach

St. Mark’s will have church at the beach each Sunday in August which includes a time for music, prayer, scripture, a message and fellowship beginning every Sunday, August.  Church at the beach starts at 8:30 a.m.  Come and enjoy one of the many benefits of living in beautiful San Diego and being part of St. Mark’s community!  And bring a friend!

Please Register Sunday Schoolers

Sunday School Registration for the fall will begin soon!  All children and youth, Pre-K through Senior High are invited to join with friends to learn about and share in the love of Jesus. Sunday school classes will begin in a few weeks!

Hallelujah Chimes

Has your child ever want to play with the Hallelujah chimes when they play in church?  Well we are calling all kids in grades 3rd through 6th grade who want to learn how to play.  The Hallelujah Chimes will be starting in September for the school year.  We meet Thursday nights from 5:20 to 6 p.m., after Hallelujah choir in the Social Hall.  If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact Christina Peer at christina.mugg@gmail.com or (858)-722‐3618

Digital Art Show Coming Up

The 14th annual St. Mark's Digital Art and Photography Show is tentatively scheduled for October.  Now is the time to prepare your entries.  More information will be announced in the near future.  Please direct all questions to Judy Edelblute.

Monthly Men’s Breakfast Meeting

Did you know there are a group of St. Mark’s men that gather for breakfast the first Tuesday of each month?  They enjoy a meal and a time of fellowship at 7 a.m. at Country Waffles (5252 Balboa Ave).  All men are invited to attend!

Altar Flowers

Ordering flowers for the altar is a wonderful way to honor a loved one or recognize a special occasion or celebration.  If you would like to order flowers for the altar please be sure to stop by the church office and see what dates are still available for this year.  The cost for a basic arrangement is $45 and a rose arrangement is $50.  You are welcome to take your flower order home after church or you can donate the flowers to C.A.R.E. Corps and they will be shared with someone that is unable to attend church.  Please note that if no flowers are ordered on a Sunday there will be a glorious artificial arrangement placed on the altar.  If you notice an arrangement on the altar and do not see an announcement in the Sunday bulletin it is because the arrangement was artificial. All orders must be placed by Monday morning of the previous week. Please contact the church office with any questions at 858-273-1480.
