RRID Newsletter, August 12, 2017

Welcome to the RRID-Pig newsletter.

We would like to highlight a paper in which the transgenic RHO pig was cited using the RRID syntax in the journal TVST, showing the progression of retinopathy in the mini swine. These pigs don't fly and if they did it may be disastrous because they can't see too well. This paper uses the unambiguous RRID syntax in a journal that does not require or enforce this standard. You may notice that SciBot, an annotation tool, had no problems identifying the pig and linking back to the NSRRC pig page, a step that will enable this journal to create these links in the future if they so chose, the way that Elsevier links to current antibody information.

In Journal News

As of July, FASEB Journal has updated their instructions to authors to include RRIDs, and we are really pleased to find the first paper published with RRID used in Table1

We look forward to many more papers in FASEB.
