Wrapping up the Saturday night in style are Esperanza: Glasgow's epic nine-piece ska collective. It's actually impossible not to abandon all dignity and decorum when this monster band starts to play, all in the room will bounce as one in a crazed jumpy fashion. In several hectic years of gigging around Scotland and beyond they have honed and perfected a high-tempo set until there isn't an ounce of fat left on it.

The Poozies (plus pals!)
The ever-adventurous Poozies come to Mallaig for the first time with a Fèis na Mara exclusive performance. As if the fat, bassy electro-harp, rockin' guitar, monster twin fiddles, stompbox and 5-string banjo weren't enough, they are joined, for one night only, by Mairearad Green on accordion, Tim Lane on drums, and Rick Taylor and Mike Owers on horns. It's party time!

The Rachel Newton Band
Rachel Newton has had some twelve months! Winner of Instrumentalist of the Year at the Scots Trad Awards, winner of Musician of the Year at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, and shortlisted for the SAY Award (Scottish Album of the Year. Expect traditional American songs from the Ozark mountains, along with Scottish Gaelic songs and finely told stories of treachery, murder and the supernatural. Her cool, no-nonsense vocals are backed by her own harp and piano with the subtle addition of fiddle, percussion and brass.

Cera Impala and The New Prohibition
Songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Cera Impala is a banjo-, ukulele-, and guitar-wielding mama who oozes wild style. Her voice is unique yet timeless, with writing style just as magical. She creates songs that feel instantly familiar. A slice of hillbilly noir and a measure of gritty 20’s and 30’s jazz, they have one foot in the past and the other in the future of folk, jazz and americana. Don’t be fooled; as whimsical as they may seem, there is a beautiful truth and intensity to Cera Impala and the New Prohibition, like a bar of deliciously dark chocolate – bittersweet, and very moreish. It would be an incredible feat not to fall in love with them.

Griogair
Griogair Labhruidh: member of the world-famous Afro Celt Sound System, former singer for Gaelic supergroup Dàimh, and current Scots Trad Gaelic Singer of the Year. His unique brand of Gaelic hip hop is the first and only music of its kind, and at Fèis na Mara he will be unveiling a mystery band of superstars to showcase his forthcoming album.

Dosca
Since triumphantly bursting on to the folk scene at Celtic Connections 2015, Dosca - the energetic five piece ensemble of bagpipes, flute, guitar, bass and drums - are quickly making a name for themselves among some of Scotland's finest folk acts. Best known around here for their blistering performance at the Eigg anniversary in 2016, they know how to make a dancefloor sweat.

Tom Oakes, Jon Bews and Daniel Thorpe are three dynamic individuals who came together in early 2016 to form this ground-breaking trio. Two of Scotland's moxt revered multi-instrumentalists, Mairearad Green and Anna Massie are a truly captivating duo, providing a highly energetic performance with instantly warm and friendly stage presence. They rocked the stage at the 2013 Knoydart Festival, and in fact have done at every festival they've played. Which is almost every one of note here, down-under, and everywhere in-between.

The Hector Henderson Quattro
Yes they're back again! No party in Mallaig is complete without them. Catch them up in The West Highland Hotel this year on Saturday afternoon for a right good ceilidh and sing-song.
