New Writing

I'm close to finishing my new book. It's called Arkship Obsidian, and it's the first in a new science fiction series. It's set in the distant future, when the sun and all the planets have been destroyed, so the remnants of humanity live on vast arkships. It follows a character called Wynn who wakes up in an escape pod during a huge space battle, without any memory of his former life. Want a sneak peak? Here's the first two pages:

Thanks for all the messages over my birthday weekend. I had a lovely time at the Edinburgh Festival, followed by a meal with my talented friend Chris Chatterton. And I got a Fitbit from the family, so I'm currently obsessed with steps! (Not the pop group, although their tunes are very catchy.)
