GALFA Communications Manager appointed

Cathy KirwanWe are very pleased to announce that we have appointed our GALFA Communications Manager, Cathy Kirwan. Cathy has an extensive career in the non profit sector spanning 25 years. Initially trained as a youth worker she spent the first 8 years of her career working in direct service in the homelessness sector, providing case management to young people and families.

Cathy has been privileged to work across multiple fields including Australian Indigenous affairs, women’s health, community radio (JOY Melbourne), community arts, international development, disability, and the philanthropic sector, where she was able to engage with a wide variety of organisations across Australia.

Over the last 10 years Cathy’s work has focused exclusively on the areas of fundraising, marketing and communications. Most recently Cathy has worked with an international consultancy firm providing support to the non-profit sectors in Australia and New Zealand with their philanthropic fundraising activities.

Cathy lives with her partner and two fabulous fur children in Melbourne. She loves to travel, cook, read, paint and drink coffee.

GALFA received a grant from the Victorian Government LGBTI community grants that is funding Cathy’s position, part-time for two years. We are very excited about the opportunities that this appointment will provide for GALFA in enhancing our position in both the LGBTIQ communities and the philanthropic sector. Cathy can be contacted on communications@galfa.org.au
