L’OREAL-UNESCO REGIONAL AWARD FOR TWO FACULTY OF APPLIED SCIENCES STUDENTS
Two post-graduate students from the Faculty of Applied Sciences have been awarded the emerging researchers L’Oreal-UNESCO for Women in Science in Sub-Saharan Africa regional fellowship.
Dr Charlette Tiloke and Miss Lethiwe Mthembu were recently named as one of the young and emerging researchers for the 2017 edition of the L’Oreal-UNESCO for Women in Science in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Dr Kevin Govender of the Durban University of Technology’s department of Emergency Medical Care and Rescue is the overall winner of the 2017 Emergency Care Society of South Africa research competition.
Dr Govender was awarded with this prestigious award during the 2017 Emergency Care Society of South Africa (ECSSA)/ER24 Annual Research awards held at Sun City last month.
Academic excellence was honoured at the Durban University of Technology’s Information Technology (IT) department during their their annual student awards ceremony held on Monday (13 November 2017) at the Ritson Campus.
These awards are part of the various initiatives by the department to encourage and motivate students to excel in their academics. Every year top performing students for all levels are awarded for their outstanding work.
DUT’S FOOD AND NUTRITION DEPARTMENT STUDENTS HONOURED FOR THEIR ACHIEVEMENTS
The Department of Food and Nutrition Consumer Sciences held its annual students award ceremony at the Rendezvous restaurant at Steve Biko campus.
Attended by students, staff, parents and alumni within the Faculty of Applied Sciences, the award are aimed at recognizing students who have excelled throughout the year in the department. These are students from first year to Btech level.
