The Ohio Arts Council is excited to announce its new Arts Learning grant program! TeachArtsOhio brings schools and community organizations together with teaching artists to share engaging, personal, and high-quality arts learning experiences.
Ohio’s public, private, charter, or parochial schools (pre-kindergarten through grade 12) are eligible and encouraged to apply!

PURSUING A PASSION: BLACKSMITH ROY ADAMS RECEIVES AN OHIO ARTS COUNCIL HERITAGE FELLOWSHIP AWARD FOR MATERIAL CULTURE

It took a trip to the metro park for blacksmith Roy Adams to find his passion. Several decades and many hammer blows later, Adams was presented with an Ohio Arts Council Heritage Fellowship Award for Material Culture at Southern Ohio Forge and Anvil’s (SOFA) QuadState Roundup event.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal civil rights law designed to prevent discrimination and enable individuals with disabilities to participate fully in all aspects of society. The Ohio Arts Council (OAC) is committed to ensuring ADA compliance and advocates for full access to the arts. Organizations that receive funding from the OAC must be fully accessible and inclusive of everyone.

INSIDE LOOKING OUT: CREATIVE WORKS BY OHIO PRISON INMATES
December 19, 2017 - January 28, 2018
Inmates from several Ohio prison facilities create works of art with unexpected, imaginative recycled materials in addition to conventional media. The exhibition is presented by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, the OAC Riffe Gallery, and the Correctional Institution Inspection Committee.

DECEMBER 1
Capacity Building: The Capacity Building program supports organizations' efforts to improve business practices or add new knowledge and skills that forward their missions. Awards may fund technical assistance projects, planning or evaluation work, staff professional development opportunities, or other initiatives that upgrade an organization's ability to do what they do.
Applicants may request between $1,000 and $5,000. All awards require a 1:1 cash match.
Applications are accepted until December 1 at 5 p.m. for activities taking place January 15-June 30, 2018.
