Lutz Preparatory School K-8 NEWSFLASH, V6 Issue 20, November 17, 2017
Dear Lutz Preparatory Families,

Our Annual Great American Teach-In was another huge success!  We are so thankful for our supportive community and families for sharing their knowledge and expertise with our students.  Photos of the great activities will be published after the fall break.

Our school was very fortunate this week to host Leadership Tampa Bay's Education Day.   During its Education Day Program, Leadership Tampa Bay toured several schools to learn about educational issues at the state and local levels focused on the business and program sides of both post-secondary and higher education.  Special thanks to our LP Board Member, Frank Rygiel, for nominating LP as a host school and allowing us to showcase our incredible faculty, students, and learning environment.  We had four classrooms set up for the members to tour and several students participated as tour guides, helpers, and assisted with questions during the panel discussion.

We would like to thank the guests who lead the the panel discussion for the LTB members:
  • Moderator:
    • Jackie Skryd, Executive Director of Grants Development, St. Petersburg College
  • Distinguished Panelists:
    • John Legg, Florida Senator and Charter School Founder
    • Chris Farkas, Chief Operating Officer, Hillsborough County Schools
    • Grace Maseda, Vice President of Marketing, Helios Foundation (LTB ’13)
    • Ken Burdzinski, CFO, Pasco Hernando State College

Thank you as always for your support and partnership in your child's education.  Go Bolts!

Sincerely,

Bonnie Guertin
Director of Schools

Our Kindergarten Team would like to thank all of our wonderful kindergarten parents and students for their kindness and generosity in the donation of food and money for our service project.  Our project supported needy families of students at Davis Elementary School in Hillsborough County.  We were able to make 4 large baskets and a box of food.  Each basket of food contained a twenty-dollar gift card to purchase a turkey or a ham.  We wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving.

Thanks again,
Kindergarten Team
