Mandatory Composting Expands Further

Come January, all jurisdictions participating in Alameda County’s Mandatory Recycling Ordinance will have organics collection requirements for businesses and multi-family buildings with five or more units. What They Mean

"Official Notification” This letter informs you about the requirements that apply to your business under the Mandatory Recycling Ordinance. This is the first step in our formal notification process and may or may not mean that you are in violation of the Ordinance.
“Notice of Violation” This letter is the second step in our enforcement process and is intended to act as a warning. The next step is a citation and a fine if non-compliance continues. To take steps to correct the violation click here.
