November, a time for holiday preparations

Dear Friends,

The fall colors are still ablaze in the streets and parks of NYC
. If you live in the city or surrounding areas, make sure to get out and capture the beauty while it's at its peak. The leaves will soon enough be washed (or snowed!) away.

It's a great time of year to go out and take family photos. I've included some pointers in the sidebar. However, if you feel like you would like a professional photo shoot, I still have some slots available.

The past few weeks have been filled with private and group photography sessions, as well as launching my online Art of Intuitive Photography course!

I also did my annual day trip to Cold Spring, NY. You can view our video of the day
here (shot and edited by my associate teacher Sepia Prince. Thank you, Sepia!).

In addition I was awarded a prize for 2 of my photos! See right bar for more details.

Wishing you and yours a very happy and joyful Thanksgiving!

In gratitude,

Art of Intuitive Photography photo tips

Fall is a wonderful season to photograph your children or pets outdoors. If you're not looking to hire someone to take photos, consider these helpful hints:

- Try to do the shoot either early in the morning or later in the afternoon. The sun is very harsh during the middle of the day, and will give you hard shadows

- Don't pose them too much - your children/pets will get bored of it very quickly. Candid photos capture the special moments

- Don't be afraid to get too close to take the shot - it's the bright smile or the sparkle in the eyes that make the photo

- Get low down - get to their level, that point of view will make a big difference

- Have some fun! Don't put pressure on yourself to get the perfect photo. Shoot a lot and make it an enjoyable time for all
