Previously on 1UpOnCancer...

We've been so busy advocating and raising money, we haven't had a chance to update you in quite some time! We'll give you a brief summary of 2018 so far, and from here on, move to bimonthly updates.

Recent Events:

DreamHack Austin (June 1-3)
 

We raised $1,407.97 - double our total at last year's convention! Thanks to all our volunteers, especially KatDell who challenged attendees to make her shave her head! (No, she didn't end up with a full buzz cut, but did cut off part of her hair...)


Awards:


We awarded $8,000 for Quarter 1 (January through March) and $7,500 for Quarter 2 (April through June). Each quarter's awards were divided among four applicants.

Staffing Changes:

Nikki Vogel has resigned as Promotions Manager. She now joins Kevin Wallace on the Advisory Board.

Katherine Waddell has taken on the role of Promotions Manager, while Stacy Lane will be Events Manager.

Chris Haslage has resigned as Board Secretary in order to move to Vice President.

Joanna Mechlinski has accepted the position as Board Secretary.

iamBrandon, known previously as UGRGaming, is a partnered streamer on Twitch and has been a part of the community for over five years now.

Brandon has an annual Halloween-themed charity fundraiser named "All Hallows Eve Charity Scare-a-thon". The 2017 fundraiser was for 1UpOnCancer. During that 72-hour event in October 2017 his crew raised $15,585!
