CONCORA (and friends!) sing Extraordinary Choral Masterworks

Handel, Mozart, Fauré, Mendelssohn...Their music has been at the heart of the choral repertoire from the beginning. Randall Thompson, Leonard Bernstein, Eric Whitacre, Morten Lauridsen... Theirs are newer voices whose music has been embraced as classics for our time. And all of it is breathtakingly beautiful.
CONCORA's Artistic Director Chris Shepard reminds us that "masterworks" include not only the "big" choral works such as masses, requiems, and passions, but smaller works that take on "masterwork" status due to their beauty and musical merit, of course, but perhaps more importantly, because of the degree to which singers and listeners like you embrace them and hold them close.
Tonight's "Extraordinary Concert" demonstrates this to a T, with a selection of masterworks large and small, each one a gem in this concert of crown jewels. CONCORA will offer fresh interpretations of a treasury of choral masterworks, performing them as you might never have heard them before. Joining the all-professional ensemble are three of Connecticut’s finest young choirs: the select high school choruses from Bristol, Ledyard, and Litchfield. CONCORA and each of the three guest choirs will perform on their own, then join for a climactic conclusion: three movements from the Mozart Requiem.

Tickets: Tickets ($10-$55) are on sale now; purchase online (CLICK HERE) or contact the CONCORA office (860-293-0567 or contact@concora.org). before noon. Online sales will continue until concert time, and tickets will also be available at at the door. Advance purchase is recommended for preferred seating. Bring some friends and take advantage of group rates for parties of eight or more adult and senior general admission tickets.
Directions: Saint Thomas the Apostle Church is at 872 Farmington Avenue in West Hartford, just a few blocks east of Trout Brook Drive. Click on the image or map below to open Google maps for this location.
Parking: Parking is available on streets around the church, and the Beth David Synagogue lot on Dover Street is available for CONCORA concert patrons. Because of another event taking place that evening at the church, we recommend that you arrive early to park.
Entry: Enter through the large central front door on the Farmington Ave side. If you need to use an elevator, enter through the door off the church parking lot on the west side of the building (to the left as you face the church).
Please note: The program lasts a little over an hour and will be performed without intermission.

When you purchase tickets online for any CONCORA event, you will receive your tickets via email. You may print the tickets and bring them to show at the door, or you may simply show your e-tickets on your electronic device, whichever is easiest for you.
