55TEC Studio (Beijing, China), created by WSDG - Walters-Storyk Design Group, has been nominated for "Outstanding Technical Achievement for Studio Design" in the 33rd. Annual NAMM Foundation Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Awards.  Celebrating noteworthy accomplishments in the pro audio community, the TEC Awards recognize the individuals, companies and technical innovations behind today’s sound recordings, live performances, films, television, video games and new media.

Acknowledged as the world’s second largest economy, China has enjoyed a tremendous increase in their market for popular music. The nation’s greatest stars have developed huge fan networks, and 55TEC owner Li You, a Golden Melody Award-winning recording engineer, was committed to creating a world-class, recording facility to meet the technical needs of these important artists.
To accomplish this goal he engaged multi-TEC Award-winning WSDG, to design a 5000 sq. ft. “showplace” studio.  With outstanding aesthetics, superb acoustics and an impressive arsenal of state-of-the art and vintage gear, 55TEC represents an invaluable new creative asset to China’s top recording artists.

Now celebrating it's thirty-third anniversary, the NAMM TEC Award is recognized around the globe as the recording industry’s most coveted prize for technical and creative excellence.  The Awards will be presented at a gala celebration on Saturday evening, January 27 in the Hilton Hotel’s Pacific Ballroom in Anaheim, California.
