Dear Anne Wien Families,      
 
       After experiencing unusually warm temperatures and a lack of snow in October and November, we sure got our fair share of winter this last weekend! I hope you’ve all been able to clear out your driveways and, better yet, I hope our River Otters were able to help you. We are always hopeful that the hard work we do here at school will translate into a strong work ethic outside of school. Contributing to help the family, especially during the busy holiday season, helps everyone stay connected, and just plain helps! We hope your season is getting off to a good start at home!

Thanksgiving Lunch at school next Tuesday
 
           We are so thankful for our school family here at Anne Wien Elementary School! With Thanksgiving coming up next week, we thought it would again be wonderful to share in a Thanksgiving meal with our students next Tuesday, November 21. Our staff will be supplying the turkey, ham, and mashed potatoes, and we would appreciate your family picking up an extra item for our school when you’re out doing your grocery shopping this week. Thank you!:
                                       
6th graders: a pack of juice boxes
5th graders: paper plates
4th graders: a pie
3rd graders: a pie       
2nd graders: a bag of salad
1st graders: a bag of rolls
Kindergarten: a container of whipped cream
 
Please send in your items to school by Monday, November 20, so we can see how much more will be needed for our school Thanksgiving meal next week. Thank you, all!
PTA “Reflections” Contest
Is your child a painter, poet, musical composer, dancer, photographer or filmmaker? If so, then you'll want to know more about the PTA Reflection's Program. November Canned Food Drive
Only a week and a half remains in our Student Council Canned Food Drive. Students are encouraged to bring in canned or nonperishable food by next Wednesday, November 22nd. The class that collects the most items will earn a class party. All donations will go to the Fairbanks Community Food Bank. 

      
FSNBSD Special Thanksgiving Hot Lunch next Monday!
  To get into the Thanksgiving spirit,
our school district’s Nutrition
Services Department has also
changed the hot lunch
menu for next Monday, November 20.
Our students will be getting two
Thanksgiving meals at school
next week, not even counting yours at home!
