Welcome to the November edition of Digital Direction, the IAB Ireland Newsletter.

There has been a heap of stuff going on in the last month to keep us busy, so we have plenty of news to tell you about. At the end of October, we were excited to host MoVi to a full house at the Guinness Storehouse. The conference included presentations from a wide range of industry experts as well as presenting brand new Irish Research from Nielsen and ondevice to gauge the positioning of this evolving landscape. In case you missed MoVI or want access to the rich content from the day, don't worry we have the presentations and a series of short interviews with industry experts caught on camera looking at the evolution and future of MoVi and how Brands can keep up to speed with the rapidly changing environment. 
Also, we got time to catch up with Giorgio Vildacci, Product Marketing Manager from Quantcast who shared some of his learnings as guest blogger this month.

IAB MoVi 2017: Highlights
 

Industry experts from comScore, Facebook, inMobi, MEC, nielsen, Oath, Pinterest, Straywave Media and TV3 joined us in making the conference so pertinent and insightful. Speakers presentations can be downloaded here.  
We got the chance to catch up with some of the industry leaders from the conference including Tim Castree, MEC, Karen Mooney, Nielsen, Stephen McCormack, Straywave Media, Stuart Wilkinson, comScore, David Hayes, Wavemaker and Madeline Beyer, InMobi.

In a collection of short video interviews conducted by our Video partner Offscript Studio, our speakers described how brands can keep up to speed with the rapidly changing landscape so that they can future-proof their marketing planning and strategies. 'Research is creating new knowledge' Neil Armstrong


As Neil Armstrong once said 'Research is creating new knowledge', and we were delighted to do exactly that, by launching and presenting new research at MoVi. Latest Insights were unveiled to help gauge the position of this changing landscape especially with regard to our younger audiences.

The Power of VOD 4 was launched at MoVi. This is Wave 4 of Ireland’s research conducted by Nielsen looking at the reach and profile of VOD users, the trends emerging in VOD consumption, time spent viewing and reactions to advertising. IAB Ireland- as part of the wider IAB family participated in Research in May 2017 to understand the latest trends of mobile behaviours and perceptions. This research was conducted by ondevice research across 18 countries.

IAB Europe Survey



We mentioned in last month's newsletter IAB Europe's upcoming survey on digital video advertising. It has become a significant area of growth. Spend in digital video advertising grew by more than 20% and programmatic video by more than 150% in 2016. IAB Europe invites advertisers and publishers to share their thoughts on digital video advertising in their most recent survey. The survey will take no longer than 10 minutes to fill out and closes on Friday 1st December.

In-brief: IAB Ireland News Round-up

IAB Europe is running a series of Webinars, the next one is taking place on Thursday 16th November featuring the MIXX Awards in Europe 2017- Creativity in Digital Advertising. This particular webinar highlights best examples of video, virtual reality & integrated advertising campaigns. For more information and to register click here
