For two weeks we are collecting monetary donations for Sutherland Springs Baptist Church. According to Southern Baptist Texas Convention organization, "funds will be used to meet the needs of the church, pastor, church members and community. Assistance may include, but is not limited to, trauma and grief counseling, funeral costs, church cleanup-repair-rebuild, grants and other needs and support associated with this tragedy." To donate, please use a check made out to Abiding Grace with Sutherland Springs in the memo line and place it in the offering plate. If you have any questions, please see Lori Anderson. Information is available online.
Pie Sunday. We will wrap up the celebration of the Thanksgiving holiday with a day of pies this Sunday, November 26. Please bring your favorite pie to share with everyone. Stay after worship for the fun and good eating that day!

Are you in 7th through 12th grade and interested in volunteering in the nursery on Sundays? If you are willing to help out, please contact Kathy Humen or contact the Abiding Grace office.
Angel Tree. We can make Christmas wishes come true for the children at our sister congregation, San Gabriel Lutheran Church in Alvarado. Please select a child or two from the Angel Tree this Sunday. Then shop using the list provided, wrap, and return your presents by Sunday, December 10. The gifts will be delivered to San Gabriel prior to Christmas.
The Annual Advent Dinner and Variety Show will be Sunday, December 3, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. The Men's Group will be cooking turkey and ham for the dinner. Donations will be accepted to benefit the youth group and their weeks at confirmation camp and the ELCA Youth Gathering in Houston this summer. Sign up to be in the Variety Show at church. Come join in and invite your friends for an evening of fun, food and fellowship to begin the Advent Season.
The Ladies Christmas Brunch will be Saturday, December 9, at 10:00 a.m. Secret Sisters for the past year will be revealed and new ones will be drawn. We know some of you don’t participate in the Secret Sister program, which is OK, but we would like you to bring a gift to put in a drawing so everyone will go home with a gift. We are asking everyone to bring fruit, breads, sweet rolls or breakfast casseroles. There will be a sign-up at church. For questions contact Dee Rose or Carol Court.
Christmas poinsettias. You can buy a Christmas poinsettia to help decorate the chancel area this Advent/Christmas season. The cost is $10 per plant—please pay by placing a check in the offering plate marked “Poinsettias.” Sign up at church through this Sunday, November 26. You can dedicate your plant in honor or memory of a loved one.
Property work day. On Saturday, December 2, there will be work day to prepare the church for advent as well as some post-construction tidying-up. The morning will begin with the Men's Group breakfast at 8:00 and finish at noon with lunch. For questions, please contact Paul Harrington.

Abiding Grace Family,

There are no words to let you know how much we appreciate all the prayers and support, your love and caring and meals we've been showered with all through the ordeal we've been through. We know God heard your prayers and we are so thankful that Donn is now home safe and sound and recovering. We truly feel your love and are so grateful and in awe of it! Thank you isn't enough but please know that we hold Abiding Grace and all of you deep in our hearts. Donn's safe return is our Thanksgiving miracle and you're all an integral part of that miracle!

With love and praise,
Donn and Carol
