Zimbabwe
Military Takeover
Zimbabwe's military has seized power early Wednesday while placing President Robert Mugabe and his family under house arrest in the capital city, Harare. After tanks and troops invaded Harare, the army general insisted that it was not "a military takeover," in a televised announcement. Thus, it's unclear whether this will bring an end to President Mugabe's 93 year old rule. The main goal of the general was to prevent Mugabe's wife, Grace, from succeeding him.
