Give to the Max Day is Here!
Each year, staff, volunteers, and Board Members of Great River Rescue work hard to save hundreds of companion dogs and cats. We provide them safe refuge, give them medical care and behavioral enrichment, and make sure they go to homes with responsible pet owners. On top of all that, we get every one of them spayed/neutered to fight problems related to pet overpopulation. We depend on people like YOU to do this work. As a private, nonprofit agency we can only do this work as long as you support us! Please consider contributing to Great River Rescue on this very important day.
Here's a look at just some of the things we've accomplished through the month of October in 2017:
- We are on pace for 375 adoptions this year
- Taken in 348 animals
- Spayed/neutered 228 pets
- Had 8 emergency medical procedures/surgeries done for pets
- Had 12 Mod Squad dogs adopted
- Conducted 42 educational presentations
- Achieved an adoption satisfaction rate of 4.79 out of 5
- Built a partnership with the ASPCA
- Reduced the Average Length of Stay since June 15 to 38 days for cats and 24 days for dogs
- Held two weeks of educational summer day camp
- Saved over 98% of all animals taken in to the shelter!
