Frances Hodgkins Prints available to purchase
Woodford House was gifted a special painting by one of New Zealand’s most prestigious and influential painters, Frances Hodgkins over 50 years ago. The beautiful painting, worth at least $60,000, was meant for former student, Ann Roberts, who was sadly diagnosed with leukemia in her sixth form year (now Year 12), in 1958. Ann passed away on January 2, 1959 and didn’t get to see the painting. Her family donated La Première Communion to Woodford House in memory of their daughter.

The Woodford House Foundation is making prints of this special painting available to purchase. You can order the prints framed or unframed.

For more information and to order please visit:  http://www.woodford.school.nz/frances-hodgkins

The original La Première Communion is currently on loan to the New Zealand Portrait Gallery for the Frances Hodgkins’ exhibition, which runs from November 16, 2017 – February 14, 2018 in Wellington. This is the first time the painting has left Woodford House. View further details here.

ACADEMIC

NZQA Examinations
NZQA external examinations for Year 10-13 students are underway and continue through to 1 December. Your daughter has received an Examination Admission Slip which she should check carefully. The dates and times of each of the examinations that your daughter is entered for are shown on the slip. We have checked this in school – but please check again for safety!

Your daughter should bring the Admission Slip to the examination on the day. If any student forgets her Admission Slip on the day of the exam, she must go to the School office where a copy can be printed.

Scholarship students are reminded that they should also bring photo ID to the exams.
