UPDATES FROM NGARENDARE FOREST
Dear Friends/Stakeholders,
We would like to attribute this half year report for 2016 to intensive patrols and the use of SMART monitoring to clamp down on illegal forest activities and charcoal burning. We sincerely thank our supporters, Timaflor Ltd, Tusk Trust and NRT for their financial support that has enabled us to run our operations cost and implement community projects through the quarterly funds donated by the Trust. Our sustainable energy project through use of alternative cooking methods received support from NRT Livelihood Funds. The funds will support the biogas / energy saving stoves, which were initiated in 2013 through funding by Terry Brewer, and the 1-for-1 tree planting programmes.
