Upcoming Speakers and the Selection Process

This transition time has given us a unique opportunity to hear from a wide variety of pulpit speakers. Here’s some of the thinking that has gone into the selection and what is upcoming.

The Speaking Team includes Bob Patterson (former Chairman of the Elders), Billy Tarka (Pastor of Worship & Creative Arts), Jenni Key (Director of Women and Prayer) and me. Many from the congregation, elders and staff have submitted names to consider. Each person submitted is listened to by two people—then the others on the team listen to the speaker. It takes a unanimity of the team for us to invite someone to come and preach.

Last fall we had Dr. Tim Muehlhoff speak for ten Sundays. He will again be speaking this fall for ten Sundays! We are so excited as he will walk us through the book of James. Thanks, Tim, for your ministry to us!

When it comes to selecting a new Senior Pastor, we will have had experience with a wide variety of speakers...

4 for Faure—A Miracle Story

Our Sonlight group is like family to us. Most of our close friends are there and they have been a part of the miracle that God has performed in our lives.

When Joe, my husband, was 12 years old, he had Lymphoma and was treated with high doses of radiation in the neck and jaw area to kill the cancer cells. It did that, and more. He lost his hearing in his left ear. As the years passed, the earlier radiation took a toll on Joe’s jaw and neck. His jaw gradually became stiffer and it became harder for him to swallow, speak, and eat. He still was strong and ran his contracting business.

In 2010, we found that Joe had an Acoustic Neuroma in his right ear. He slowly started loosing his hearing in his right ear. Soon it became frustrating to go to restaurants and, no matter how strong the hearing aid, the sermons and conversations grew impossible to understand.

By 2014, Joe was completely deaf...

God at Work—Share your story!

There isn't anyone you couldn't learn to love once you've heard their story.

Over the last year, we've heard countless stories of how God has been at work in the body of EvFree and we'd love to hear how He has been at work in your life! Stop by the Plaza table this Sunday, August 14 and share your story with Scott Robinson, our Storytelling Ambassador.

You can also share your story here or via the EvFree App anytime, and read all the stories here.

Search Committee Update

A few weeks ago, our Elders hosted a Congregational Meeting aimed at informing our congregation about our process for searching for a new Senior Pastor. As part of the process, they introduced the Dingman Company as the search firm we’ve contracted to assist in our search. In our effort to keep everyone in our church in the loop on these important matters, below is a brief recap video of the process.
