Hello Friends of Marks Village! You are receiving our first Oak Tree Ministries eblast. You have been a faithful friend, and we want to faithfully keep you in the know about what God is doing in the Village. Each month, we'll share upcoming events, needs, prayer requests, and glimpses of God's glory from the Village. LABORING TOGETHER!

YOU ROCK!

Over 60 of you contributed and turned out the week of June 6th to Rock the Village! You hammered nails, brought coolers of ice, cooked chicken wings, Zumba'd like a pro, praised to the beat of the drum, packed gracious gift baskets, jammed with JJ the puppet, stuffed sit-upons, dodged balls, walked friends home, shared the Gospel, and showed the love of Jesus through it all. 70+ adults and 190+ kids (54 for the first time) from the village experienced Jesus - Rock the Village style. Several kids were born into God's family during the week, and adults were encouraged through praise, prayer and fellowship.
We can't thank you enough!

MAKE DISCIPLES

It isn't a request. This is His command. The pattern for most of us is to evangelize and then fail to disciple. Disciple making is work, for sure. But what is a ten year old boy cared for by his illiterate grandmother in the housing project supposed to do with Jesus once He finds him? Someone must DISCIPLE him. Someone discipled you and me. We desperately need more SOMEONES - 18 more disciple makers to add to our teams. Are you the SOMEONE God is sending to the Village as a disciple maker on Sunday afternoons for Bible Club or Tuesday/Thursday afternoons for age group reading and adventure clubs?

IT'S THAT TIME

Back to school shopping is the best - freshly sharpened pencils, a new lunch box, the cool backpack. This year, would you consider picking up an extra ruler or calculator or pack of pens when you're shopping with your kids? Our Marks Village elementary kids are ready for their first day thanks to the Love Oliver folks, but our middle and high school students could use your help. Oak Tree hopes to have backpacks with supplies for 20 of our teens. They are completing community service projects to earn this reward. Please email

GLORY GLIMPSE: 10 of our teen guys spent 7 weeks this summer rock climbing, rappelling, & more in an Urban Adventure - How Cool is That!

PRAYER: God will call 18 volunteers to join us in making disciples and provide the needed $12,000 for the after school programs for 2016/2017

NEED: A refrigerator for the 175 meals served weekly - our old one died!
Four picnic tables - great projects for Eagle Scouts
