Dear <<First Name>>

Magdalen Road Church has been informed that the PCC and their new advisers have decided to re-market the Irving building later in the year. Though we regret the delay in what has already been a lengthy process, we believe that the sellers are intent on ensuring that the conditions of sale will meet their overall objectives and will encourage bids with strong community outcomes. We’re confident that MRC will be able to meet these conditions and remain hopeful that our bid will ultimately prove to be successful.

MRC’s priority is to be a part of our community, not primarily to buy a building. The decision to make a bid for the Irving Building is motivated by our intention to better serve the people of East Oxford by providing more space and flexibility for community activities than our current premises allows, but whatever the final result of the Irving Building process we will continue to seek to live more closely with, and in, our local community.

During this summer, we’re continuing to work towards this goal. We’re running a free holiday Bible Club between the 23rd and 26th of August in the SSMJ school hall - another way to connect with families with young children in our local area. If you have kids aged 4 to 11 who might enjoy this, please see our website for more details.

Thank you for your ongoing support,
