Learning with Lauren Early
While everyone is rocking the stage at Halifax Celtic Festival, Becky will be in Toronto attending a two-day workshop with six-time world Irish dance champion, Lauren Early. This workshop, Reaching New Heights, focuses on fitness training that is specific to Irish dance. The special training aims to make dancers stronger so they can perform better (and are less likely to get injured) and also ensures dancers reach peak performance exactly when they need to. We're really excited to learn more and apply it to our classes and students.
Help spread the word about our Halifax Celtic Festival performance. There are lots of other great acts lined up and even more events listed online.
THROWBACK! Here's a look back to our first day of classes last September. What a year it has been. Thank you all for your support and love of Irish dancing. We're looking forward to 2016/2017!

Video
We shared it on Facebook but had to give it another look. This dancer and her dog, Secret, have released another video showing the results of all their practice.

Resources
Styles are always changing in Irish dance costuming. What was in fashion a couple years ago will be different than now, never mind decades ago. We came across a Pinterest board of vintage Irish dancing costumes and it's a joy to see!

Local

The Nova Scotia Irish Dancers, the performance troupe featured in the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo, are headed to Germany! The troupe have been invited to dance at the Polizeishow in Hamburg - a fabulous opportunity for Irish dance and our region. The troupe are having a fundraiser, Dancing to Deutschland, on Sept. 17 and it is open to all who wish to attend.
