Autumn Seasonals Are Here!

August is the month when we begin to release our next round of seasonal-focused beers, and this year we have two wide-releases for you. We're proud to bring out one of the most sought-after pumpkin beers in the area, Isle of MaGourdo as well as an incredible amber 'festbier' Oktoberfest.

You can find these beers at your favorite local retailers, in addition to being served fresh from our tap room.

Featured Beer

Oktoberfest

Every year the Bavarians get together for the largest beer festival in the world: Oktoberfest.

In celebration, we brew our own version of the 'festbier', an amber märzen lager fittingly called Oktoberfest. It's crisp, with a rounded brown bread sweetness that pairs expertly with all manner of sausages like bratwurst, knockwurst, and weisswurst.

The beer is now available on draft and in packaged cans in both our tap room and our numerous retail partners. Bring some home and have your own Oktoberfest celebrations!

Bar Louie - Boynton Beach

Bar Louie Boynton Beach has been a tremendous supporter of Due South since our doors opened in 2012. Starting their venture into local beer with our Caramel Cream Ale, Bar Louie Boynton came to feature three Due South drafts!

Built on that success, today you'll see Caramel Cream Ale, Category 3 IPA, and typically one of our seasonal releases on tap at all times.

Say 'Hi' to Sylvia and the team at Bar Louie Boynton, take a look at their killer new remodeled location, and have yourself a great Due South beer!

Melinda

Melinda has been with Due South Brewing Co. since our opening day back in 2012. We're lucky to have her as part of our team considering how busy she is with lots of travel as well as a full time job in a law office. If you've joined us on a Tuesday night for Ladies' Day or on a Friday night, you've likely seen her helping customers at the bar and sharing some of her knowledge about craft beer.

What got you interested in craft beer? I had a friend open a craft beer bar almost 9 years ago that I helped open, it was love at first taste.

Have you observed any changes in the role of women in the craft beer world? In the 9 years I have worked in craft beer, I have noticed a greater inclusion of women in craft beer. They hold all jobs in the brewing profession, including owning their own breweries. In the beginning I noticed a lot of guys when they would come in, they didn't think that a woman would be very knowledgeable about craft beer and would wait to ask one of the boys, now that doesn't happen nearly as often. Craft beer is definitely not a boys only club anymore!

Where is your favorite spot to grab a beer, besides the Due South taproom? Brass Tap in Boynton Beach. Not only are they big Due South supporters, but really support all the local breweries. Their buffalo chicken dip isn't too shabby either!

Tell us about your favorite customer comment/reaction/experience at Due South. I love when I see people outside of the tap room and they make a point to come up and say hello and tell me how much they like our beer. You know you are doing something right when customers seek you out when you are not even at work.

Recent Beer Releases

Here are some new beers now available in the taproom and in the market
  • Grapefruit Category 5 IPA - Our Gold medal winning Category 5 Imperial India Pale Ale will be treated with grapefruit peel to make one pithy and citrus-laden beer.
  • Oktoberfest - Brewed as a traditional German Marzen, this beer is created each year to celebrate Oktoberfest! So grab a dimpled mug, grill up some bratwurst and enjoy our take on this historic European style.
  • Isle of MaGourdo - Isle of MaGourdo is a pumpkin ale brewed specially for the fall season. Years ago our Brewmaster Mike went tuna fishing in Islamorada with Bo, Bryan and a great man named Martin. This beer is brewed each year the same time as that trip. For Martin – we miss you buddy.

Upcoming Beers

You can expect the following beers in the coming months.
  • Cafe Ole Espresso Porter - Roasted barley and flaked oats combine to form a rich, robust flavor, complimented by the addition of locally roasted espresso (from Argyle Coffee Roasters) and a touch of vanilla.
  • Simcoe Dry Hopped Pale - Part of our Dry Hopped series, we take our 5.1% ABV pale ale and copiously dry hop it with Simcoe, a hop variety known for passion fruit, pine, berry and earth characteristics.
Have you had our Weekend Weisse lately? This wheat based beer utilizes the souring bacteria Lactobacillus to give a tart, lemony flavor and aroma, perfect for the end of summer. See what else is on tap in the taproom.
Brewery tours are a great way to learn how beer is made and experience the true meaning of 'Drink Local'. Check the Tours section of our website for the most up to date times.
