Dive Center News
New Dive Center Manager: Marco!
When Swiss PADI dive instructor Marco did his first dive on the Atmosphere house reef after having worked in the Maldives, he exclaimed “I LOVE it!”. That’s a great compliment to our house reef but also shows how perfectly Marco would fit into the Atmosphere dive team.
Having previously taught and guided in the Maldives and Indonesia, he has worked as Atmosphere’s main dive instructor since September 2015 and has now taken over the role as Dive center Manager since August 1.
Marco loves muck diving but also loves teaching and spending time with the dive team. As for Adam (to the left) – he will now fully concentrate on his role as Resort Manager.

Big stuff in Dauin
Close-up encounter with a whale shark in Dauin this morning - awesome photos by Atmosphere Resorts guest Ronald Wigman! The lucky dive site was Secret Corner, famous for being an “all sand” dive site with lots of small rare octopus and other critters. Atmosphere Resorts marine biologist Daniel Geary and guest Ronald Wigman were the lucky two - and they have the photos to prove it. Daniel unfortunately dived with a macro lens on this dive but got a picture of a parasite on the whale shark's skin... (last photo!)

The Underwater Dream Tour comes to Atmosphere
Atmosphere had the great honor of welcoming a group of very well-known underwater photographers in July for a week of diving, photographing and fun. Set up by Korean photographer Jerome Kim, who wanted to familiarize the group with the fantastic diving of the Philippines where he lives, we were lucky to also welcome Ken Thongpila (Australia), Nu Parnupong (Thailand), Kelvin Tan (Singapore), Robin Yao (Hong Kong), Garri “Iggyboy” Tadlip (Philippines), Yorko Summer (Taiwan), Iyad Suleyman (Ukraine) and Nicholas Samaras (Greece). First out as photographer of the month is Nicholas, but you’ll see a lot more of them soon.

Another Atmosphere baby is born!
Huge congratulations to Spa manager & Yoga teacher Rae Collins and her partner Joel Silot who works as Atmosphere's personal trainer, to their second son Eli, born in July. We look forward to him and big brother Jai’s first Atmosphere scuba dives, yoga lessons and - eventually - drinks in the bar.

Droneheroes are back!
In April, we had a visit from Droneheroes.tv, making us some stunning drone- and land based movies that took our (and a large Facebook and Youtube audience’s) breath away. In July they returned for more filming and we are very excited about the outcome. One day we visited the mysterious Twin lakes (lake Balinsasayo) and here’s a sneak peek from that trip. Jurassic Park, eat your heart out!

Congratulations to six new dive instructors through IDP
Our fourth PADI IDC of the year took place in July with six candidates, who did an amazing job throughout their two week program. A lovely group who managed to have fun despite the stress of the upcoming examination. Congratulations to Aey, Carol, Damian, Mark, Aisleen and TJ!
