Approximately 40 Hispanic youth and families from Pasaporte a la Educación Programs and other affiliates from the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (VAHCC) attended a “Football & Fútbol Fiesta” on Monday, August 1, 2016, at the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Camp. Upon arrival, each student received a “Football & Fútbol Fiesta” t-shirt, printed by BluePrint Sign & Design and generously donated by Lightbulb Organization.

At the Football Fiesta, youth were taught “Football” tips, from the Muñoz Agency through a Play 60 Character Camp. Additionally, the Richmond Kickers Soccer Professionals spoke on key leadership lessons from on and off the field as well as various “Fútbol” tips to keep in mind when playing the sport. Throughout the event, there was an emphasis on exercise, good health, and reinforced importance of character during athletics as well as life.

The VAHCC Foundation’s Pasaporte a la Educación Programs support Hispanic youth through bilingual leadership programs in
schools, to stay on the path to higher education or skill sets certification.

“We are pleased to be working with the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation again this year in offering opportunities to engage our Hispanic youth” said Michel Zajur, VAHCC Founder & CEO.

With the mission of making a positive impact on the lives of the youth, and in this case underserved Hispanic students, Anthony Muñoz, Hall of Fame offensive tackle and Chairman/Founder of the Anthony Muñoz Hall of Fame Foundation has stated, "These local level efforts have a tremendous impact on the children from these varied communities, and it's an honor to work with them. When I was young, interacting with and learning directly from my NFL heroes was huge, and these camps continue that cause today.”
The VAHCC and the Redskins have had a strong partnership in the past and will continue working alongside each other during the National Hispanic Heritage Month.
