Chancel Painting Project:  Volunteer!!

Building and Grounds will be painting the mid-section of the chancel wall to further brighten up the sanctuary in August.  All work will be performed on scaffolding and ladders. The paint job itself will be pretty simple roller-type work.  Please come and join us Wednesday-Saturday, August 10-13.  We will begin at 9:30 and work until 2:30.  Come join us!!

Wednesday we will begin with prepping the area at 9:30 and start painting when we are done.  Wear old clothes.  Water and snacks will be provided.   The reward will be a lighter, more beautiful sanctuary to worship in this September.

ADORE Schedule

The ADORE facilitators from First Unitarian Church Baltimore and Towson Unitarian Universalist Church have some exciting announcements.  We want to continue to have a major monthly program or event where Unitarian Universalists and others in the community can come together for A Dialogue on Race and Ethnicity.  We did decide on a regular time that you can mark on your calendars monthly.  We will meet or participate in a community event the third Saturday of each month.

From the Peace and Justice Ministry

Back to School Collection--Once again we will partner with the 4th grade Team at William Paca Elementary School.  A list of needed supplies is here.  Whatever you provide from the list will help the students and teachers.  Please consider picking up some of the items as you and your family prepare for the new school year.  And remember, some items can be purchased as you do your regular grocery shopping (tissues and hand sanitizer).    Last day for collection will be Sunday, September 18, 2016.  Contact Roberta Van Meter, msvee505@gmail.com.
Change for Change

Our Change for Change partner for June, July, and August is Dayspring Programs in East Baltimore. Dayspring's mission is to improve the lives of children and families affected by substance abuse, homelessness, and poverty.

Members of our church serve on the Board of Dayspring and its staff, and volunteer to provide opportunities for residents to participate in meditation and yoga classes. Our church also initiated and sponsors Dayspring Garden, providing learning opportunities for children and their moms in planting, tending, and harvesting fresh vegetables, along with enjoying flowers and shade trees.

More information is available during Fellowship Hour at the Peace and Justice Ministry table.
