Welcome to our August Newsletter.
You may have noticed a fresh new look for Mossman Support Services!
OUT WITH THE OLD AND IN WITH THE NEW!
For the past 25 years, we have been operating as the Douglas Shire Community Services Association or the Mossman Community Centre. Operating under this name gives many people in our district the impression that we are funded and operated by the Douglas Shire Council (understandable when we have “Douglas Shire’ as part of our operating name), but we are, in fact, funded by the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability and the Department of Social Services.
The time had come to create a brand new identity for ourselves – an identity that reflects the fact that we are an organisation that provides a variety of support services within our community.
OUR NEW IDENTITY
Mossman Support The redesign of our visual identity and updated trading name to Services, reflects the change in our corporate identity from an incorporated association to a company by limited guarantee. We hope that the update also raises awareness of the broad variety of support services offered within our community.
Funded by the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability, the Department of Social Services and for some programs the Department of Health the community support services that we offer include:
Disability Support Services
Youth Services
Emergency Relief Program
Family Counselling Services
Court Support
Exam Supervision
Community Kitchen & Garden
Men’s Shed
Art Group
Work for the Dole Projects
APM, QITE, Busy at Work job network agencies (weekly visits)
NILS program (fortnightly)
Womens Legal Services (monthly
You will see our buildings undergoing a few cosmetic changes to reflect the bright, fresh and modern approach of our new logo.
