[Insert really bad berry pun here]

Sincere apologies to the late, great Prince for that appalling pun in the email header. Probably our worst yet. But it can't be denied we're all about the berries this week. The great British summer may have been somewhat disappointing so far but with so many beautiful berry beers gracing the shelves right now, it's entirely possible to enjoy a taste of summer in a glass. Here are our picks (sorry).

Welsh rockers Tiny Rebel pull out the big guns with their first ever sour, Frambuzi, a beer so berry-licious that Jen dreamed about picking raspberries all night after only drinking a 1/3rd. We can't be responsible for what might happen if you drink more. Hawkshead's Chuckleberry Sour returns for 2016 and we're picking it will fly off the shelf just as quickly as last year. (What's a chuckleberry? Drink one to find out.) We've also re-upped on the Kernel's glorious Raspberry Sour and Siren's Tschuss Blueberry Berlinerweisse, with a few bottles left of Mad Hatter's Presence of Strawberries Saison too.And don't forget about trusty old Boon Framboise either. This Belgian sour stalwart never disappoints.

London Beer City (featuring the one and only HB&B Chilli Karaoke)
London Beer City kicks off this weekend and there are so many great beery events happening. Our Viva Hate event with Yeastie Boys next Thursday has sold out alas, but you can get your HB&B fix next Friday night when Chilli Karaoke returns to the Beer Kat in Holloway Road. The Beer Kat's manager emotionally described the last event as "the best night ever had in a pub" and he's been around the block a few times so probably knows what he's talking about. See you there?

If you can't make it, check out Time Out London's top picks, or peruse the full LBC schedule. We're looking forward to heading to The Bear in Camberwell this Friday for their Buxton, To Ol and Amager tap takeover, and joining the NZ Beer Collective at the Commercial Tavern in Spitalfields during their week-long celebration of NZ beer, to name just a couple of events. So much to choose from - get amongst it!
New stuff - the edit!
  • Brew By Numbers DIPA hits flagon-fill this weekend, along with Fourpure's London Beer City four-way collaboration with Beavertown, Five Points and Fullers.
  • Gipsy Hill Drifter East Coast IPA is back in bottle
  • Double Brexit beer! Drown your referendum blues with Elusive Brewing's Plan B Belgian pale ale or To Ol's Brettxit, a bretted IPA.
  • Go small with Pressure Drop, Smallbanger, a 0.5% wit shandy mash-up of their Lime & Ginger Wallbanger and Square Root soda.
  • Go crazy with Siren & Hoppin' Frog's 5 Alarm, a red chilli beer that was surely brewed with us in mind?
  • Marvel at Marble in new 330ml bottles - two new ones from the Manchester masters, Built to Fall APA and the phenomenal Damage Plan IPA.
  • Farewell the boys of The Beer O'Clock Show podcast who record their final show tonight at ours - their two collaboration beers are available from tomorrow, Starship Fleet Wave 2, an English pale ale brewed with Elusive Brewing (330ml bottles), and a Salted Peach IPA brewed with Northern Monk (flagons). Pick up a 660ml bomber of Northern Monk's Midsummer Peach & Apricot IPA while you're at it too...
The Beer Lover’s Table: Spicy Cheeseburgers and Wild Beer Co Epic Saison
Beer and burgers - was there ever a better match? It's what summer is all about. Food writer Claire Bullen has created possibly the world's best burger recipe and paired it with one of our favourite beers. Click here to get the recipe and find out why burgers are all about balance. And beer, natch.
#TotesAwesome - July winner
Congratulations to Jonny Robins, who won the July #TotesAwesome competition with this shot that sums up everything about the joys of Wimbledon (strawberries, Murray's Mound, Mikkeller). He's scored himself a £50 HB&B voucher - nice one, fella. One more month to go - keep sharing your HB&B 'tote bags on tour' photos on Twitter and Instagram to be in to win. Tag them #TotesAwesome and CC us. :)
