AJ Linnell Memorial Trail Day and Trail Dedication this Sunday August 7

WHEN: Volunteer check-in is at the Mail Cabin trail head from 9am-9:30am this Sunday August 7. Please carpool to the trail head as parking is limited! Walkers meet at 9am. Riders meet at 9:30am. Volunteers will begin departing the work site to return to the trail head at 3pm....or when ever you get tired!

WHERE: Click here for Directions to the trail head on Mail Cabin Creek Rd at the base of the Idaho side of Teton Pass. The parking area is across the road and slightly uphill from the Coal Creek parking lot.

DETAILS: It is a little over an hour walk and about a 35-45 minute pedal to the work site. Some tools will be at the work site, but we will ask some volunteers to carry tools in as well. Please bring water, lunch, gloves, sunscreen and bug juice. Wear long pants and closed - toe shoes. MBT will have snacks at volunteer check in for you to pack in. The MBT trail crew and the USFS will be onsite to help direct volunteers. Our focus will be digging new tread on the lower section of the reroute and revegging the old trail.

AFTER PARTY AND TRAIL DEDICATION Join us at 5:30pm at the end of Cemetery Road in Victor to open the new AJ Linnell Memorial trail! Please park at the Kotler Ice Arena or the pub and walk/ride to the dedication.

The volunteer thank you party at Grand Teton Brewing will immediately follow the dedication (at about 6pm). All trail diggers get a free beer and dinner from Taste Buds to enjoy on the brewery lawn. Bring your mountain bikes to the party because the time-trial races from the pub up/down the new 0.4 mile AJ trail will start at 6:30pm.

If you don't want to dig, MBT needs volunteers to help with volunteer check in at the Mail Cabin trail head, to set up the party at the pub and to run the time trial. Please contact Executive Director Amanda Carey if you would like to help with anything throughout the day at amanda.carey@mountainbiketetons.org or 307.413.1998.
