Thank you for the loving encouragement that you showered on me this past Sunday. What a blessing. I never would have expected to wrap up our Sunday series on Job with several of you saying, "you know, it's like you lived (in a small, small way) the story of Job for us. I'm not sure I'd say that it was a pleasure, in the wake of the vandalization, the oven burn and the robbery; but I too was reminded incarnationally that we are called, like Job, to work with God to turn back the chaos that threatens to overturn and subvert God's good creation.
Hoping to see you Sunday, if not before!

- We're beginning a new Sunday series, using the Narrative Lectionary that covers the breadth of the First Testament up through the fourth Sunday of Advent, after which it switches its focus to the gospel of Luke. This is a way for us to (re)get a wide survey of the Bible, grappling with our scriptural roots and (re)claiming the stories of the Bible as our own story. This Sunday we're wrestling with the story of the fall, or frustration of creation from Genesis 2:4b-7, 15-17, 3:1-8 & Luke 11:4. You can check out the overarching sermons series, as proposed by the Narrative Lectionary HERE.
- You can begin the sermon process today with a blog post and examen reading of the texts HERE, and/or with a TEXT STUDY LINK HERE. (Both will be published by Friday morning of this week)
Ushers :: Sharon Nelson, Anne Marie Adams
Liturgist :: Can you help by serving as liturgist? Contact Monte if you can.
Fellowship :: Linda Davis Louise Hirschman
Godly Play :: Beth Beatty, Maya Patil
These updates could be incorrect if switches have been made between different people. Be sure to update the office if you've done a switcheroo so that we can have our publications as up to date as possible. Thanks!

Monte has decided to change the way in which we publish the prayer requests shared in worship each week. The goal of this is to free up more print space in our paper bulletin on Sundays in order to share news about upcoming events and gatherings. We consistently do not have enough space to do so each week. So we'll be experimenting for the next 6 weeks (until the end of September) to see if publishing the prayer requests from the previous Sunday in the e-news (as usual) but not in the paper bulletin, allows us to better communicate what's happening in and around the church. If you have a comment you can direct it to Monte via email [ email link] or in person. Thanks.
