Dr. Thomas Blomfeldt is currently working as a Senior Engineer at the R&D of Sandvik Materials Technology in Sandviken, Sweden. Dr. Thomas holds a Master’s degree in Material Science and a Doctoral degree in Polymer Science from the Royal Institute of Technology, KTH, Stockholm, Sweden. After finishing his PhD study, Dr. Thomas worked as a research consultant at the Swedish corrosion institute SWEREA KIMAB, Stockholm, a job which included inspections, testing and developing of new materials. In 2014 Thomas joined Sandvik Materials Technology where he is currently working on the development of new alloys for tube applications, with a particular focus on ethylene production and the chemical industry.
