The American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) is one of CAHME’s founders, and has been a longtime supporter of promoting the profession of healthcare management and the importance of accreditation in graduate healthcare management education. I recently met with ACHE President Deborah Bowen and COO Liz Summy, who told me about some new development for students.
ACHE’s Career Resource Center supports healthcare management professionals in advancing their career. This year, ACHE announced the introduction of CareerEDGE SE, a valuable career planning tool which includes a five-step framework for career success specially designed for Student Associates of ACHE.
Faculty from CAHME accredited programs should feel confident in pointing to ACHE as an essential resource to students as they plan their career. Needless to say, ACHE reinforces the value of the CAHME accreditation standard, and acknowledges that CAHME accredited programs meet clear criteria related to curriculum content and design, faculty and university resources, and career development and progress of a program's graduates.
CAHME thanks ACHE for their support and is proud of our long partnership in the ongoing development of the profession of healthcare management.
