Digital Radio Mondiale at IBC 2016: ‘DRM: Smart Radio for All’
Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) has an exciting line-up of events at this year’s International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) in Amsterdam 9th - 13th September. IBC is the leading global tradeshow for broadcasters and media professionals and attracts over 150,000 visitors every year from over 160 countries worldwide. DRM will have more events than ever, more to share and show than in the previous years at “pop-up events” hosted by key members of the Consortium.

- Thomson Broadcast: Saturday 10th September, 1230 to 1330 (Hall 8 C35)
- Nautel : Saturday 10th September, 1530 and 1700 (Hall 8 C49)
- Ampegon and Transradio, Sunday 11th September 1400 to 1500 (Hall 8 D35)
With four key events planned throughout the five-day exhibition participants will have an opportunity to enter the DRM Prize draw and win an Avion DRM digital radio!

Special DRM Broadcast from Radio Vaticana for the HFCC Conference in Miami
Radio Vatican’s special broadcast has been planned to run before and during the next HFCC International Broadcasting Delivery coordination conference scheduled to take place in Miami, USA, 22-26 August 2016. Read more

Special DRM Transmission from Ascension Island – Sunday 28 August 2016
A special DRM digital transmission from the BBC Atlantic Relay station will be aired on 21715 kHz, marking the fiftieth anniversary of the BBC’s first short-wave radio broadcast from Ascension Island. The BBC has been broadcasting BBC World Service programmes to Africa and South America from the Atlantic Relay station in the Ascension Island since 1966. Fifty years later the BBC continues to broadcast over 250 programme hours every week to East and West Africa in English, French, Hausa and Somali. This special transmission will be sent with greetings from Ascension Island’s BBC and Babcock International staff and visitors celebrating this special occasion. Read more

DRM Enterprise Award – Asia Pacific Region 2016
Nominations are now welcomed for the second DRM Enterprise Award for the Asia Pacific region. The Award is jointly sponsored by the DRM Consortium and SAS, the leader in analytics, aims to stimulate interest in the DRM standard in various parts of the world that can benefit from the full introduction of digital radio, like the various countries of the Asia Pacific region. The first DRM annual prize was aimed at the Pacific Islands and was awarded in 2014 to SIBC, the public broadcaster in the Solomon Pacific Islands.
