Battle Without Honor or Humanity Volume 2 pre-order

"The clouds glow above the forest fire like the holographic brains of mathematicians . . ."

J. G. Ballard once confessed that his worst fear was an atrophy of the imagination brought on by anti-intellectualism and the dumbing down of culture. D. Harlan Wilson's ferocious innovations remind us that the powers of the imagination remain very much alive. In the follow-up to his critically acclaimed fi ction collection, Wilson makes good on what Publishers Weekly called "a lingering threat to do it all again." These stories of ennui, terror and jouissance foreground a raw existential absurdity that siphons energy from the specter of media culture. Dreamlike and satirical, theoretical and obscene, Wilson navigates the riverworlds of the cinematic unconscious, reminding us just how profoundly the real has become the reel.

Steel Empires book 2: Magic is dying…

Funerals are usually the end of the story, not the beginning.

Newly graduated warrior-mages Toria Connor and Kane Nalamas find themselves the last remaining mages in the city when a mage school teacher mysteriously falls ill and dies. But taking over the school themselves isn’t in the cards. They’re set to become professional mercenaries—if they make it through the next 18 months as journeymen first.

The debate over whether to hunt mutated monsters in the Wasteland or take posh bodyguard jobs is put on hold when a city elder hires them to solve the mystery of the disappearing mages. Toria and Kane’s quest brings them to the British colonial city of New Angouleme, where their initial investigation reveals that the problem is even greater than they feared.

But when a friend is kidnapped, they’ll have to travel to the other side of the globe to save her, save themselves, and save magic itself.

Trisha will admit she’s made a few mistakes in her life but that checkered past is behind her. She loves her kids, even if it’s tough being a single mom. But her loyalties are put to the test when her infant son disappears in the middle of the night, and his big sister says a monster took him.

Now Trisha has to face the full truth behind the one-night-stand that produced Brayden in all its scaly torridness—Brayden’s father wasn’t human and isn’t interested in sharing custody. However, even though DEMON  has pulled this stunt many times before, he made a mistake when he chose Trisha. The one thing she won’t do is give up her son without a fight. Along with her ex-boyfriend, Joel, Trisha is dragged back into the seedy underworld in a desperate fight to reclaim her son, only this time she’s got a lot more to lose.

Brothel cover art
There’s a striptease that happens in Brothel that is neither fact nor fiction, fantasy nor memory. It is a dance of eroticism, of death and decay. The human body becomes a service station for pain, for pleasure, for the lonely, the confused. Sexuality is hung on the door, and the act of love is far from anything that’s decent. Her women spread their legs to violence then smoke a cigarette and get on all fours. They use their bodies as weapons and learn to find themselves in the climax of the boundaries they cross in order to define their humanity…or lack thereof.
